Exeter Charity's Bio
Charity is very much at the heart of what we’re doing at XCFS. All our energy over the last six months has been dedicated to generating as much support as possible for our chosen charity, Student Minds.
Student Minds is the UK’s leading student mental health charity, providing vital resources, support, and advocacy for young people navigating the challenges of university life. This cause is incredibly close to our hearts as students ourselves, having witnessed firsthand the impact of mental health struggles and the importance of accessible support.
What makes XCFS truly unique is that every single penny we raise goes directly to Student Minds. None of us are taking anything for ourselves, and our incredible models, volunteers, photographers, and designers are all donating their time and talents for free, in the spirit of charity. We are humbled by the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support.
Despite all the glam, at the heart of it, we are just a small team of six students, passionate about creativity, innovation and driving change. Ordinarily, a fashion show like the one we have in store would require a huge (not to mention full-time) team of experienced event organisers and significant financial backing. Yet, the six of us have poured our hearts and souls into this project alongside our university work. It has been no small feat, but we are driven by a shared vision of making a difference.
We are so excited to bring you a sensational event on the 8th of February. This will not only be a celebration of fashion but a powerful testament to the difference we can make when we come together as a community. However, we can’t do this without your help. Thanks to our fundraising efforts so far, we’ve already raised an incredible amount and are so close to reaching our target of £25k. Our goal now is to spread the word far and wide to push us over the finish line, enabling us to make a transformative impact.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to this goal. If you are unable to donate, you can still make a difference by sharing our cause far and wide. Your support will help us become Exeter’s largest student-led charity event; a legacy we hope will inspire future generations long after we’re gone.
Aside from the charity aspect, XCFS is dedicated to offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience where every single penny generated contributes to the greater good. This is a real first for Exeter, and we’re so proud to be at the forefront of the movement. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved thus far, we cannot wait to see it all come together.
