On Saturday 1st November 2025, I’ll be stepping into the boxing ring for the UWCB fight night at Planet Ice, Milton Keynes. After 8 weeks of training, I’ll be putting on the gloves, not just for the challenge, but to raise money for Cancer Research UK – a cause close to my heart.<div><br></div><div>Cancer has deeply touched my family.</div><div>In 2013, my Mum was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer. She bravely went through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy – and after five long years in remission, she was finally cleared. But in late 2024, she was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. With fewer treatment options available, she needed more surgery which was more major this time around, followed by daily medication and another five-year remission journey. Once again, she’s shown incredible strength and has beaten cancer for the second time.</div><div><br></div><div>At the same time, my father-in-law was diagnosed with cancer in late 2024. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and continues to fight his own battle with courage and strength.</div><div><br></div><div>Sadly, I know too many others who have also been impacted by this disease.
