As many of us do at the start of a new year, we often think about how we can challenge ourselves for the year ahead. For 2023 my personal challenge for is to complete my first half marathon and where better to start than with the scenic London Landmarks 2023, taking place on 2nd April.While I am doing it for my own sense of achievement, it will be the first official half marathon I will have completed, I am pleased to be taking part on behalf of the amazing charity Guide Dogs for the Blind. They have been kind enough to allow me one of the spaces for the event, and as such I will be running the race with all the proceeds I can raise going to this worthwhile charity.Did you know it costs £36,000 to train a guide dog, no me neither! The tireless work that goes into training one of these remarkable dogs truely changes its future owners life making this work all the more important. With more adults and children alike requiring help with visual impairments this really is a wonderful cause and really will help to make a difference to someones life.I know at the moment times are tough, but I would really appreciate it if you could dig deep and give a little, (or a lot), to this worthwhile cause.

London Landmarks Half Marathon

Ataxia is a rare condition that comes in a variety of forms, affecting people young and old. I have two people in my life that have a variant of the illness, my father in law David and a family friend Natalie, and on their behalf I will be competing in the marathon for the benefit of Ataxia UK. This amazing charity offers support to those affected and their families, as well as carrying out research with the goal of developing treatments and cures for the ataxias.2023 will also see me reach my 50th birthday, (hopefully), and while I have been talking about completing a half marathon for some time, I figured it would be a good challenge to get it completed before I hit the milestone.I am pleased to say that I have a place in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 2nd 2023, and I would like to think that there are people out there who will sponsor me to achieve two goals, 1. cause me a bit of pain and 2. to donate a bit of money to an excellent cause.I know at the moment times are tough, but I would really appreciate it if you could dig deep and give a little, (or a lot), to this worthwhile cause.So pull out your wallet/ purse, click on the link and donate!
