The courage and resilience shown by these young people and their families, and the strength and desire with which they face their challenges, has left a lasting impression. Equally, the dedication of those who give their time, money, and support to the charity has had a profound impact, even through my limited interaction.The mission of the MCA Trust is to provide vital support to children diagnosed with cancer across Essex and East London, as well as their families. At the heart of their work is the commitment to bring hope, strength, and moments of happiness during the most challenging times for young patients and their families. This support takes many forms: from offering financial assistance to ease the burden of treatment, to providing emotional guidance that helps families navigate the uncertainty and strain of a cancer diagnosis.Beyond direct family support, the Trust also funds and delivers projects that enhance the quality of life for young patients. Whether through improvements to hospital facilities, initiatives designed to create positive experiences for children undergoing treatment, or programmes that give families opportunities to make lasting memories together, the MCA Trust ensures that no child or family feels alone in their journey.With that inspiration in mind, I am currently training for a boxing fight on 27 September to raise funds and awareness for the MCA Trust.
