Last summer I ran almost 80 miles around the biggest lake in the British Isles. A few months later I put this story, for suggestions of what to do next, fully intending to do one if any of them spoke to me. I had a few suggestions, but someone said as a joke to do 50 laps of Damflask. A 5.3km loop, 265km / 165 miles in total. We laughed at first but the seed had been planted, and that thought never went away. The fact it was a joke is exactly why I must attempt it. It was too far to be serious, it couldn’t be done.. or could it?Damflask is very popular around here. I must’ve done hundreds of laps around there over the years, it has become my happy place, a place that puts my mind at ease and allows me to forget about everything just for a little while.This time it is where we find out how far I can go. It will be where I put my mind and body through hell to see what I’m made of.This distance means going through the night, sleep deprivation and everything that comes with a feat of endurance at such distance. I have no idea how long to expect that to take. But if we are doing this then we are doing it properly, 50 laps of Damflask - done in 1 hit.In all honesty, I don’t know if I can do this. But I want to push myself and see what I’m capable of. I am backing myself to get it done, but this is another level. And I will carry on until I’ve not got one more step in me.This challenge is different in a way that I like because it’s local and any of you can join in to support the cause. Anyone who would like to join me for a lap or a few is more than welcome, the more the merrier (won’t be hard to find me). The provisional date for this is Friday 14th - Saturday 15th March, drop me a message if you fancy getting involved!This will be to raise money again for The Running Charity and Barnardo’s, both helping children and young people across the UK to help them turn their lives around.To add context like I did last time, this is roughly the equivalent of running from Sheffield to Wembley Stadium.

On Thursday July 4th I will run a lap of Lough Neagh, the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles. The route around is expected to be roughly 80 Miles (approximately 130km). This will be by far the toughest challenge I have ever set myself.I thought this would be a great opportunity to try and raise some money for a good cause.I&#x27;m hoping to raise money for Barnardo&#x27;s as well as The Running Charity. Both of which work with children and young people to help turn their lives around. I believe that the earlier you can help to turn someone&#x27;s life around and get them on the right path the better, and the impact that can be made from that when compounded over the years can become massive.Barnardo&#x27;s mission: We are here because too many children and young people across the UK are missing out on a good childhood, and on the opportunity to thrive when they become adults.We’ll continue to be here for as long as we’re needed – working with children and young people to be safe, happy, healthy and hopeful.The Running Charity: Our mission is to nurture young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and help them reach their full potential. We do it through our running and personal development programmes and by creating a supportive community.Any donations, no matter how small, are massively appreciated.
