On November 8th I'm hitchhiking for charity for the second year in a row with Baby Bummit! 🚗🏞<div><br></div><div>Last year Freya and I had an interesting descent from Sheffield to Cardiff, this time we're travelling from Sheffield to Glasgow looking to meet new people, take in breathtaking highland scenery and avoid any more near death driving experiences, as well as gratefully take donations however small or large.🏃</div><div><br></div><div>The charities Bummit is supporting:</div><div><br></div><div>'The Snowdrop Project' ❄️- This is a South Yorkshire charity that provides long term support to empower survivors of human trafficking in the UK to recover their past and build their future through counceling, casework and befriending as well as funding policy work so that we can prevent trafficking in the future.</div><div><br></div><div>'Cavendish Cancer Care' 👬- For 30 years this charity has supported all people affected by cancer through support, counseling and therapy in their dedicated centres and hospital wards. This charity relies almost entirely on public donations!</div><div><br></div><div>'Sage Sheffield' 🎨- This charity provides therapeutic arts and horticulture programmes to support people whose lives are affected by mental illness. They use art to build confidence, gardening to connect to nature and unlick creativity and provide education to members, staff and volunteers to help the wider community.</div><div><br></div><div>'Urban Roots' 🌳- This community led, Glasgow based environmental charity works with local neigbourhoods to improve living conditions in Glasgow. They work with all ages in schools, gardens, woodland spaces and community spaces by providing conservation, biodiversity work, food growing and education with the aim of connecting people to eachother and the seasons.</div><div><br></div><div>For more info on the charities, please give their websites a coffee break viewing.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks all and cheerio, I'd be ultra grateful for whatever gets donated to help these causes!</div>

Charity Hitchhike Sheffield to Glasgow

<p>This year I, Zach Chan, and my coursemate, Freya Davies, will be taking part in Baby Bummit, the biggest charity hitchhike in the UK!</p><p></p><p>On the 9th November we and over 200 others, will have 1 day to get from Sheffield to Cardiff. To do this we will be relying completely on the kindness of strangers for lifts.</p><p>We would be super grateful if you would be kind enough to donate any amount of money to the charities we are supporting below!</p><p></p><p>The Charities We are Supporting:</p><p>S6 Foodbank - The S6 Foodbank provides emergency food and essentials to those who need it most, working on a referral basis local people are given a minimum 3 days nutritionally balanced emergency food and support.</p><p></p><p>Hope For the Future - Hope for the Future is a climate charity which works to equip communities, groups and individuals across the country to communicate the urgency of climate change with their local politicians.</p><p></p><p>Shout - Shout is the UK&#x27;s first and only free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope with their mental health.</p><p></p><p>Sheffield Young Carers - Dedicated to supporting young carers and young people affected by drug and alcohol issues in their family.</p><p></p><p>To find out more check out: https://bummit.union.shef.ac.uk/</p><p></p><p>Thanks, wish us luck! </p><p>Zach and Freya :)</p>
