After the highs and lows of last year&#x27;s expedition to Porto, I am once again taking part in Big Bummit, the UK&#x27;s biggest charity hitchhike.Starting on the 7th of April, myself and my teammate Elliot will be hitting the road, equipped with nothing but a backpack and a few sheets of cardboard. We will have just 1 week to get from Sheffield all the way to Bratislava .This trip is about more than getting from point A to point B - it&#x27;s about connecting with people, sharing stories, and spreading kindness along the way.Each ride we catch provides the opportunity to meet someone new, share why we&#x27;re doing this and inspire others to get involved. It’s about coming together, supporting each other, and making a positive impact.So, if you’re up for joining us on this adventure or helping out in any way, it would mean the world. Together, we can make this journey more than just a trip — I know we can make a real difference. Thank you.We are raising funds for 5 amazing charities:<ul><li>Sheffield S6 Foodbank - This charity provides emergency food parcels and essential supplies to individuals and families facing financial hardship.</li><li>The Snowdrop Project - Sheffield based charity, providing long term counselling and financial support for survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery.</li><li>Haven - A charity dedicated to supporting children affected by domestic abuse. The organisation provides free, voluntary, and specialised services to help young individuals process trauma and rebuild confidence.</li><li>City of Sanctuary Sheffield - A local charity dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for asylum seekers and refugees. Operating in &quot;The Sanctuary&quot; a hub in the city center where people can access vital services.</li><li>Iniciatíva Inakosť - Based in Bratislava a LGBTQ+ charity advocating for equality, legal protections, and social acceptance. Hitching to Bratislava!

In light of my success hitchhiking to Glasgow in November, I am taking part in Big Bummit, the biggest charity hitchhike in the UK!On the 23rd March myself and over 100 others, will have just 7 days to make it all the way to Porto from Sheffield. To do this we will be relying completely on the kindness of strangers for lifts.I will be raising money for five amazing charities:<ul><li>Weston Park Cancer Charity - supports those living with cancer and their loved ones. As well as providing a wide range of support, including transport to receive treatment and independent living support, they also play a crucial role in the support of research and clinical trials.</li><li>The Snowdrop Project - provides long-term holistic support to empower survivors of human trafficking in the UK to recover from their past and rebuild their future.</li><li>Ben&#x27;s Centre - provides a safe space for those who suffer from substance abuse. Ben&#x27;s centre provides hot meals, clean clothes and advice and guidance for individuals in need.</li><li>SAYiT - offers support to young LGBTQ+ people in Sheffield. They also provide advice to parents and offer sexual health and education for teens and young adults.</li><li>Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome - a national food bank organisation and one of the most important social support organisations in Porto. This year I am taking part in Baby Bummit, the biggest charity hitchhike in the UK. On the 8th November myself and over 200 others, will have a sinlge day to make it all the way up to Glasgow from Sheffield. To do this we will be relying completely on the kindness of strangers for lifts.I will be raising money for 4 wonderful Charities:<ul><li>The Snowdrop Project - provides long-term holistic support to empower survivors of human trafficking in the UK to recover from their past and rebuild their future.</li><li>Cavendish Cancer Care - provides support to people affected by cancer for over 30 years, offering support to those diagnosed or recovering from cancer as well as to friends and family members affected.</li><li>Sage Sheffield - provides therapeutic arts and horticulture programmes for people whose lives have been affected by mental illness.</li><li>Urban Roots - a Glasgow based, community led environmental charity who aim to address neighbourhoods and environmental concerns, working with local neighbourhoods to improve living conditions in Glasgow.</li></ul>Any donations to help support these incredible charities is greatly appreciated!
