I was an alcoholic for many years. To this day I&#x27;ve never come across a worse addiction problem than what was my own. I was unstoppable.On any given day, the only thing that would stop me from drinking into blackout was lack of money to do so. Eventually i was completely isolated from anyone positive in my life. Visits to the hospital were frequent. I would either wake up somewhere secluded enough to not be found, or be scraped off the pavement by paramedics.The only times I ever felt normal and respected in my active addiction was when I visited organisations like the one I am currently fundraising for. It gave me the strength and motivation to stop and seek a steady existence.I&#x27;m now almost a decade sober. I&#x27;m self employed as a cleaner and my life is very fulfilling. I have many hobbies and always want more.Soul Kitchen is a local organisation feeding mainly the homeless, but anyone can attend. It is run completely by volunteers, and raised money goes towards food to be served. In colder months the volunteers search the streets for rough sleepers to hand out hot drinks and food to, and there is also a programme to teach people cooking skillsIt&#x27;s more than just a meal. These people are starved, not for malnutrition, but for respect, and the human dignity the rest of us often take for granted.Please help me to help this charity continue to thrive. No punch could ever hurt like the pain these people suffer.Thank you and God bless.
