I&#x27;m running the London Marathon 2023 in aid of Care International UK! From Ukraine to Syria, women and girls often bear the brunt of poverty and crises and yet receive the least support. THIS is why I am raising funds for CARE International, who put women and girls at the heart of their work.CARE invest in creating education and economic opportunities across the world, as well as respond to humanitarian crises as they arise. Right now, they have teams on the ground in Syria, Turkey and Ukraine, risking their lives to deliver vital support in the form of shelter, food and essential provisions for the survivors of earthquake and war. For the sake of women and girls everywhere, please do donate whatever you think you can afford. By investing in women, you will be making a real and lasting impact for not only them today, but also their children tomorrow.Substantial achievements to date: · CARE: helped over 3.5 MILLION women launch businesses, access financial services, find jobs and gain greater economic equality (in 2022 alone) · Laura: fell off a standing horse (aged 11) · CARE: launched Lendwithcare in 2015 - an innovative funding programme that connects entrepeneurs in low-income countries with investors from around the world to boost funding for start-up enterprises · Laura: captained the Prince’s Mead netball team (Year 6)· CARE: improved access to education, eliminated gender-based violence and increased their role in society for over 10 million women and girls in 2022 · Laura: got hot handing out water at the Sierra Leone Marathon (mile 14 party station)· CARE: launched the &#x27;Women Lead&#x27; project in 2018 to upskill female leaders so they can take a leading role during crises and improve the effectiveness of humanitarian responses · Laura: semi regular player for the Seedrs dodgeball league (wore knee pads on 7th Feb 2023)· CARE: drove forward the agenda to prevent sexual violence in conflict at the 2022 PSVI conference in London · Laura: got new Sweaty Betty leggings (Black Friday sale, 40% off) · CARE: gave Laura one of their coveted spots on the London Marathon 2023 Team · Laura: whooped loudly at a generous donation from YOU on her GiveStar fundraising page Monetisation StrategyOur business model is centred on asking for money and offering nothing in return.
