Hi I&#x27;m Asha and I&#x27;ll be taking part in a hitchhike from Sheffield to Glasgow with Baby Bummit, the UK&#x27;s biggest hitchhike! Issac and Ben and I will be attempting to make it to Glasgow within one day along with 200+ other students. We are supporting 4 incredible charities: SAGE (an arts and gardening educational charity based in Sheffield, designed to improve mental health and community through creative therapy), Urban Roots (a community led, environmental charity based in Glasgow, that does gardening, cooking, outdoor education and conservation activities), Cavendish Cancer Care (a Sheffield based cancer charity which provides emotional support along with expert therapy for those suffering with the disease) and Snowdrop Project (a charity that empowers survivors of human trafficking or modern day slavery). We are so happy to be supporting these incredible organisations and would greatly appreciate any donations!

Hi I&#x27;m Asha and I&#x27;ll be taking part in a hitchhike from Sheffield to Porto with BIG Bummit, the UK&#x27;s biggest hitchhike! Issac and Ben and I will be attempting to make it to Porto Portugal through hitchhiking. We are supporting 4 incredible charities: Weston Park Cancer Charity supports those living with cancer and their loved ones. They offer a wide range of support services and activities to make life during and after cancer that bit easier for people.Their support services include:Independent living supportFree transport services to access treatmentOutSwimming Cancer - free swimming lessonsWeston Park Cancer Charity also plays a crucial role through their support of research and clinical trials. They work hard to improve the quality of life for patients during cancer treatment and beyond.The snowdrop project is a South Yorkshire based charity that provides long-term holistic support to empower survivors of human trafficking in the UK to recover from their past and rebuild their future. Their main work focuses around Casework &amp; befriending, Counselling, Community activities, House renovations, Training and Policy work &amp; partnerships (having spoken in parliament to encourage systematic change in the past!)The Snowdrop Project exists to ensure that no survivor of trafficking has to rebuild their life alone. Last year they supported 124 survivors with the practical and emotional support they needed to move on from the trauma of their past.Ben’s Centre provides a safe place for those who suffer substance abuse. It is the only damp centre in Sheffield which means that individuals can access support whilst they are under the influence.Ben’s centre projects include:Day centre - provides those in need with a hot meal, access to clothing and washing, internet access and activitiesOutreach service - Ben’s centre staff connecting with people in need around Sheffield. The service offers food, drink, clean clothes and a chance for individuals to have a chat offering advice and guidance.Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome is a national food bank organisation and is one of the most important social support organisations in Porto.They help other social and non-private organisations by providing them with food to be distributed amongst local communities.Their Porto based food bank supports 55,000 people across Porto. We are so happy to be supporting these incredible organisations and would greatly appreciate any donations!
