<div>On 8th November 2023, I will be hitchhiking from Sheffield to Glasgow, relying totally on the kindness of strangers, for charity with Bummit Society (the biggest charity hitchhike in the UK and the world's largest student organised)! Over previous years, a total of over £1.1 million has been raised through this society, towards a variety of excellent charities!&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>This year, we are raising money for charities including The Snowdrop Project, Cavendish Cancer Care, SAGE and Urban Roots. Ellen, Charlie and Chester’s Baby Bummit to Glasgow!

<div>Hey, this year I am taking part in Baby Bummit, the biggest charity hitchhike in the UK. On the 13th of November myself and over 200 others, will have 1 day to get from Sheffield all the way to Edinburgh. To do this we will be relying completely on the kindness of strangers for lifts. We are supporting some great charities: Roundabout, Assist Sheffield, Sheffield Women Aid and Simon Community Scotland. Bummit has already raised over £1 million for charity in the past, let's make it even more! Thank you for your support :)&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Roundabout</div><div>Roundabout - South Yorkshire homeless youth charity. They aim to help bring stability into homeless youth’s lives. They do this through homeless prevention services e.g. mediation with youth and their families, accommodation in hostels, help with the transition to independent living, and tenancy support. They have 350 bed spaces that they offer and they have been full every night of 2024 so far. They are looking to expand this service.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Assist Sheffield</div><div>Assist - Support individuals who have been unsuccessful in their asylum applications.</div><div>Many of the individuals ASSIST helps have escaped the unimaginable horrors of war, violence and persecution.</div><div>Assist Sheffield offer emergency accommodation, welfare benefits, assistance in community integration e.g. learning English, and local activism.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Sheffield Women Aid (SWA):</div><div>Sheffield Women Aid (SWA) - SWA are a small Sheffield-based charity that solely focuses on housing women and children from anywhere in the UK who need a place of safety</div><div>They have been providing emergency accommodation for women and children who have suffered and survived domestic and sexual abuse and violence.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Simon Community Scotland SCS:</div><div>Simon Community Scotland- Homeless charity dedicated to meeting people where they are. Whether they are homeless or at risk of homelessness they support finding people safe, reliable homes but ensure that the cause of homelessness is tackled at the root. As well as homes, SCS offer addiction support, digital training to improve employability, trauma-informed care and more.</div>
