Me and two of my friends are doing a charity hitchhike from Sheffield to Bratislava.we are aiming to raise £250 each and this money will go to the charities listed below. here&#x27;s some info about them:Sheffield S6 Foodbank - This charity provides emergency food parcels and essential supplies to individuals and families facing financial hardship.The Snowdrop Project - Sheffield based charity, providing long term counselling and financial support for survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery.Haven - A charity dedicated to supporting children affected by domestic abuse. The organisation provides free, voluntary, and specialised services to help young individuals process trauma and rebuild confidence.City of Sanctuary Sheffield - A local charity dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for asylum seekers and refugees. Operating in &quot;The Sanctuary&quot; a hub in the city center where people can access vital services.Iniciatíva Inakosť - Based in Bratislava a LGBTQ+ charity advocating for equality, legal protections, and social acceptance. Raisng awareness and support LGBTQ+ individuals.

Hey, This year I am taking part in Baby Bummit, the biggest charity hitchhike in the UK. On the 13th of November myself and over 200 others, will have 1 day to get from Sheffield all the way to Edinburgh. To do this we will be relying completely on the kindness of strangers for lifts.The charities we are raising money for are:RoundaboutRoundabout - South Yorkshire homeless youth charity. They aim to help bring stability into homeless youth’s lives. They do this through homeless prevention services e.g. mediation with youth and their families, accommodation in hostels, help with the transition to independent living, and tenancy support. They have 350 bed spaces that they offer and they have been full every night of 2024 so far. They are looking to expand this service.Assist SheffieldAssist - Support individuals who have been unsuccessful in their asylum applications.Many of the individuals ASSIST helps have escaped the unimaginable horrors of war, violence and persecution.Assist Sheffield offer emergency accommodation, welfare benefits, assistance in community integration e.g. learning English, and local activism.Sheffield Women Aid (SWA):Sheffield Women Aid (SWA) - SWA are a small Sheffield-based charity that solely focuses on housing women and children from anywhere in the UK who need a place of safetyThey have been providing emergency accommodation for women and children who have suffered and survived domestic and sexual abuse and violence.Simon Community Scotland SCS:Simon Community Scotland- Homeless charity dedicated to meeting people where they are. Whether they are homeless or at risk of homelessness they support finding people safe, reliable homes but ensure that the cause of homelessness is tackled at the root. As well as homes, SCS offer addiction support, digital training to improve employability, trauma-informed care and more.
