Help Us Raise £5,000 for Little Discoverers – Honouring Memphis’ Legacy
---
Our Story
On May 30th, 2022, just two months before his 2nd birthday, our world was shattered. My youngest son, Memphis, passed away after battling a rare mitochondrial genetic condition (3-methylglutaconic aciduria type 7). For much of his short life, Memphis faced a relentless fight – constant infections, extended hospital stays, intensive care, seizures, delayed development, round-the-clock NG tube feeds, neutropenia, and dystonia – the list goes on.
Through it all, there was one lifeline that helped us cope, and that was Little Discoverers.
Little Discoverers, based in West Norfolk, provided essential support, therapy, and socialization for Memphis. They allowed him to develop alongside other children with additional needs, giving him opportunities I will forever cherish. They helped me feel like a “normal” mum despite the challenges we faced.

About Little Discoverers
Little Discoverers is a local charity that offers early therapy and education for children aged 0-5 with movement difficulties and delayed development. They serve children in West Norfolk and beyond, helping families with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and other genetic conditions.
The charity provides:
- Weekly Group Sessions: Free, group sessions run for 36 weeks a year where parents and children work closely with specially trained staff.
- Holistic, Multi-Sensory Learning: The charity uses a unique method inspired by the Peto Institute of Conductive Education in Hungary, focusing on building new neural pathways through rhythmical intention and fun activities.
- Family Support: Parents also benefit by meeting others who understand their situation, forming a support network. The charity also holds family events to help families bond and connect, such as soft play visits, swimming, messy play, and more.
For many families like ours, Little Discoverers is more than just a charity – it is a vital support system that makes an immeasurable difference in their lives.

Our Fundraising Goal
In memory of Memphis, I’ve decided to give back and raise funds to support Little Discoverers so that other families can benefit from the invaluable support they offer. Our goal is to raise £5,000, which will help the charity continue its essential work with children and families in need.
On 20th September 2025, I, along with 14 other incredible individuals, will be running the 15k Tough Mudder to raise money for this cause close to my heart. We’re taking on this challenging event to honour Memphis and ensure that Little Discoverers can continue to provide support for children like him.
