Tom takes on the London Marathon

Created By Tom Shorey

On April 27th, I’ll be taking on the iconic 26.2-mile London Marathon, a bucket list challenge that I've wanted to do for a while. I’m running to raise money for two amazing charities that provide life-saving emergency care covering London and Bristol - London's Air Ambulance Charity and the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.

Air ambulance charities play a crucial role in saving lives by providing rapid, advanced medical care in emergencies. They operate helicopters and rapid-response vehicles to reach patients quickly, often in remote or hard-to-access locations, delivering critical care at the scene of accidents or life-threatening incidents. These services bridge the gap between the time of an emergency and hospital treatment, often making the difference between life and death.

Entirely funded by donations, air ambulance charities rely on public support to keep their helicopters in the sky and their highly skilled crews ready to respond 24/7. They are a lifeline for individuals, families, and communities, ensuring that urgent medical help is never far away when it’s needed most.

Here's a video from one of my favourite YouTuber's Geoff Marshall about the London Air Ambulance...
