Why I’m Fundraising for James’ Place
I’m raising funds and chasing a world record by completing 7 full-distance triathlons (each comprising a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run—your classic Ironman distance) on all 7 continents in just 23 days. The current record stands at 4 years.
Why go to these extremes? Because men’s lives are on the line.
What James’ Place Is Doing
- Suicide is the leading cause of death in men under 35, with three-quarters of suicides in England and Wales being men .
- James’ Place offers free, life-saving therapy to men in suicidal crisis across their centres in Liverpool, London, and Newcastle, providing rapid access and no waiting lists .
- Their evidence-based model, including the unique “Lay Your Cards on the Table” intervention, offers continuity with the same trained therapist, in a safe, non-clinical space .
- Since opening seven years ago, they’ve already helped 3,600 men .
My Challenge, Their Cause
Every mile I push through symbolises a life James’ Place could save. With your support, each donation becomes more than just money—it becomes hope, help, and healing for men in crisis.
