On Sunday 18th May, members of the Sale Sharks Academy will lace up their trainers and take on the Great Manchester Run—not just to push themselves on the road, but to make a real difference off it.

This year, we’re proud to be running in support of two incredible causes:
💙 The Sale Sharks Foundation – empowering young people across our region through sport, community inclusion and education.
🏥 Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital – the largest and busiest children’s hospital in the UK, providing world-class, compassionate care to thousands of young patients every year.

We’re proud to be recognised as one of the best academies in the country, taking northern rugby talent and developing them into elite athletes and inspiring role models. With a fearless coaching team based at Carrington and across the North, we offer opportunities that go far beyond the pitch.

The Academy isn’t just about sport—it’s about character, community, and compassion. And that’s why this run matters.

Over the past few years, the Academy has raised £16,297.03 for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. This year, we’re going again—this time with the goal of smashing through the £20,000 mark!

RMCH is a true pillar of our community. With 371 paediatric beds and 60 neonatal cots, they care for children and young people across Greater Manchester, the North West, and beyond.

As a major teaching hospital, they’re not only delivering life-saving care but also pushing boundaries in children’s health through cutting-edge research and world-class training—right here in Manchester.

Their mission is simple but powerful: to provide family-centred, dignified care to every young person who walks through their doors.
