Hi, I’m Rach.

In September 2026, I’ll be taking on the biggest challenge of my life to raise £100,000 for The Children’s Trust, a charity that supports children across the UK who are living with the effects of brain injury.

The Children’s Trust is particularly close to my heart because of the life changing help they offered to a family friend of mine, Bella.

When Bella was just 10, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Within the same month she endured two emergency surgeries, leaving her unable to walk, speak, or swallow, which is something no child should ever have to experience.

Whilst in Hospital, The Children’s Trust stepped in. They invited Bella and her family to their Tadworth rehabilitation centre for a 10 week stay, costing the charity around £80,000 in 2016.

There, Bella received daily physiotherapy, cognitive therapy, and speech therapy. These were all delivered through play and fun so she could still feel like a child. By the time she returned home, Bella was walking and speaking clearly again.

The charity’s support didn’t stop there. They arranged ongoing physiotherapy at home, which proved invaluable when Bella needed further surgery just six weeks later. That consistent support continued through her teenage years, including when her tumour returned in 2020 and she faced more surgeries and two years of chemotherapy.

Their unwavering support changed Bella’s life.

Today, Bella continues to inspire me with her resilience. She completed her GCSEs and even an A-level despite everything she’s been through.

That’s why I’ve set myself an extreme fundraising challenge: I’ll be cycling from John o’Groats to Land’s End, and then swimming all the way back along the East coast.

Alongside that, I’ll also be taking on several half marathons, marathons, and other physical events — many of which I have already completed. My first was the Battersea Half on the 11th of may 2024, which was Bella’s 18th birthday. I then had the privelege of running the London Marathon 2025, which really was an honour, and I wore the TCT jersey with pride.

This challenge is nothing compared to what Bella, and so many children like her, have to face. With your support, I can help make sure The Children’s Trust can continue providing the care, rehabilitation, and hope that transforms lives.

Every donation, big or small, brings me closer to my target and keeps me moving through every mile cycled, every stroke swum, and every step run.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support 💙

Rach xx
