Paula Radcliffe's Iceland Trek Challenge

Created By Paula Radcliffe

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’m taking on a new challenge to ski-trek across the Langjökull glacier ice cap in Iceland from the 10th of May to the 17th of May 2025, to raise vital funds for research into children’s and young people’s cancers.

This is a cause very close to my heart after my daughter Isla was diagnosed with a rare type of germ cell tumour when she was just 13 years old. Thanks to research, huge progress has been made over the last 50 years, which has meant more children like Isla are surviving their cancer. But around 500 young lives are still lost to cancer each year in the UK, and many who do survive are left with life-long side effects from their treatment.

This is the reason we are both proud to be Ambassadors for Children with Cancer UK, and their drive try to ensure that every child and every family get the support that they need. Together we won’t stop until every child is ringing that bell for a brighter future.

There is much left to do, both in the UK and around the world. The World Health Organisation estimates that each year 400,000 children and teenagers develop cancer around the world, and cancer is a leading cause of death for children and adolescents. We need further research and scientific breakthroughs so more of the children and young people diagnosed can get successful treatment, go into remission and live better lives with fewer side effects.

All of the money I raise will go to Children with Cancer UK, one of the biggest funders of research into children’s and young people’s cancers in the UK, driving transformational progress for young cancer patients.

Thank you so much for your support.
