I am excited to declare that this October I will be running the Lisbon Marathon on behalf of the London School of Economics (LSE) 'Raising and Giving foundation'. I have been given the opportunity to raise money for three charities carefully selected by the 'Raising and Giving' foundation:
Fat Macy’s Foundation (Local Charity): Fat Macy’s Foundation helps individuals transition from temporary housing through culinary training, personal support, and access to rental deposits. This initiative offers young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to secure stable housing and improve their income and employment prospects in London. Safe Passage (International Charity)
Safe Passage aids unaccompanied child refugees in Europe, helping them reunite with their families and find safe havens in France, Greece, and the UK. Their efforts have facilitated the safe passage of over 2,500 child refugees. Supporting this charity is crucial for the safety and justice of refugee children worldwide. I ran the London Big Half last year in 1h 25m and loved the experience. I enjoy having goals to work towards, and running my first full marathon is my next milestone before I turn 20. With my training well underway, I am hoping to achieve a strong time in Lisbon while supporting these meaningful causes.
