I AM RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON!

Conversation over Borders provides English language, befriending, mental health support, digital inclusion and advocacy for asylum seekers and refugees. They support people fleeing war and persecution to settle into life in the UK and have the tools they need to flourish. 

I've been lucky enough to volunteer with COB, first as an English tutor and now as assistant coordinator on their English & Befriending project. It's an amazing community and the need for its services is ever growing. 

Ambitious about Autism is the National Charity for autistic children and young people championing their rights and creating opportunities. They stand with autistic children and young people by providing services, raising awareness, understanding and by campaigning for change. 

 

My youngest brother, Joe, is autistic and non-verbal. Joe is probably my favourite person ever. I also work for Ambitious about Autism, so I get to see the impact the charity has on young people like Joe everyday!

The thought of running 26.2 miles is terrifying, but doing it for COB and Ambitious makes it feel slightly less so. I am very proud to be running for both of them.
