We're taking on the challenge of attempting to hitchhike from the UK , travelling through Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain with the aim of ending up in Porto, Portugual. Our journey begins on the 23 of March!
We're excited to take on this challenge! It's going to be an unpredictable adventure we're sure with lots of obstacles. If you're interested in following our journey we will be posting updates along the way on instagram : @popintoporto
The purpose of this challenge is to raise money for the three following charities which have been selected by each of us...
1) Helen Rollason Cancer Charity
This charity is based in Essex. They provide support to people with all kinds of cancer throughout and after treatment. The charity is named after the BBC broadcaster Helen Rollason who believed that a 'good quality of life when coping with cancer is the most important gift a sick person can receive'. One of us has experienced second-hand the support this charity can offer to a family member under going treatment for breast cancer.Β
2) Altzimers SocietyΒ
This charity has 40 years experience and knowledge for supporting both people suffering with dementia as well as their careers. They carry out ground breaking research into better ways for caring and treating people with dementia
3)Bens CentreΒ
Bens centre is a safe place for people in Sheffield who struggle with substances to access services they might need to pick themselves back up again, a hot meal, and chance to wash, and to access the internet, as well meet with a friendly face and feel supported
Please donate to help these amazing charities, we will be splitting the money we raise evenly between these 3 charities. Even a small amount can go a long way!
