Bummit Committee Fundraising

Created By Bummit Committee

Thank you so much for checking out our fundraising page!

On Monday the 10th of November, we will be joining over 200 Sheffield Uni students will be attempting to make it all the way to Bristol, without spending a dime! Relying on the kindness of lovely strangers zooming along the M5. All for a good cause however as we will be raising money for 4 wonderful charities, 3 in Sheffield and 1 in Bristol. Please do support my journey by donating!!! - NO donation is too small (every little helps!)

These charities are:

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice - SHEFFIELD

Started in 1998, the hospice provides families an alternative to hospital care. It offers palliative care to children and young people up to the age of 25 with life-limiting or terminal medical conditions. Families can visit for short breaks supported by the Care Team allowing them to participate in fun activities and enjoy quality time together in a home away from home. Other services include bereavement counselling for siblings and parents, in-home care, music and hydrotherapy (just to name a few).

The Sunday Centre - SHEFFIELD

On Sundays, there is a particular need for safe refuge as other relief organisations on this day are likely to be closed. The organisation provides hot food, drinks, toiletries and the opportunity to socialise inside. Relying on donations alone, means that running this service is by no means easy. Many of the guests are in insecure accommodation and a few sleep rough yet the service also aims to serve those affected by substance issues, addiction, mental health issues.

ASSIST Sheffield

ASSIST Sheffield supports some of the most marginalised people living in Sheffield - people who have been unsuccessful in their applications for asylum and as a result have been made destitute. Since 2003, this small organisation has achieved so much and done our city proud. Every week they are a supportive friend to around 90 people who are seeking sanctuary. They provide a safe place to sleep, provide people who are destitute with a small amount of money, help people survive and integrate, and also bring awareness to asylum destitution.

Off The Record - BRISTOL

A mental health movement mobilised to support, promote and defend mental health, rights and social position of young people. They provide free, confidential and self-referral information and support to young people aged 11-25 in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. All of its core services are free, confidential, and self-referral.
