In 2023 my wonderful, kind, funny and caring mum was diagnosed with young onset Alzheimer’s disease. I hate what this cruel disease has taken from my mum and many others around the world. So I want to do what I do best - running a very long way - to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research so that treatment and support for those affected by Alzheimer’s is better in future. So on the 29th of September I will set off from Lands End and run around the entire perimeter of Cornwall back to Lands End. Cornwall is where I grew up and moved back to recently to be close to my mum. The route is approximately 400 miles with 60,000ft of elevation gain and loss across rugged and weather beaten coast lines. No one has done this before.
Running has always been my anchor through hard times and this has been the hardest few years I have been through but being able to escape on to the trails has been a huge comfort so it seems fitting I use my legs to raise some money for something very close to my heart.
