Hello I am Joel Mordi, and my duo is Amanda Kamanda, Together we are #TwoRefugeesWalking embarking on a journey to walk 2,500 miles over 210 days, spanning all 32 London boroughs. This symbolic walk mirrors the distance many refugees trek to escape persecution and danger in search of safety.
The Two Refugees Walking campaign is not just a physical journey but a powerful statement of resilience, hope, and advocacy. We are both walking to raise funds for critical organizations like Rainbow Migration, UNHCR, Safe Passage International, and our newly launched Minority Inclusion Foundation UK (MIF UK).

Why Our Walk Matters
Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Refugees: I (Joel) was placed in a detention centre in the UK after fleeeing my home country. Many LGBTQ+ individuals face unimaginable challenges, including fleeing our home countries due to persecution. This walk amplifies their voices and calls for greater protections and inclusion #NoPrideIndetention.
Challenging Injustice: Joel walks backward to symbolize the regressive policies and laws affecting LGBTQ+ refugees, while Amanda walks forward as a beacon of hope and progress #TransRightsMatter #TheserefugeesCan.
