In April 2026, Conor McHale and Fraser Arnott will take on an extraordinary challenge: running seven marathons in seven consecutive days, finishing with the iconic London Marathon on 26th April 2026 in an effort to raise money for Brain Tumour Research and Tommy’s - two charities very close to both their hearts.
For Isla
Last year, Fraser’s sister, Vicky, and Brother in Law, Jack, went for a 40 week check up for their daughter Isla. They were delivered unimaginable news that Isla’s heart had stopped beating. The impact was incomprehensible and sent shockwaves through themselves and their families. Vicky and Jack had to endure a very different birthing story than what they had imagined over the previous 9 months, as well as other heartbreaking practices like arranging Isla’s funeral and facing her perfectly planned nursery at home.
Tommy’s support was a lifeline for both Vicky, Jack and their families after Isla was born, and the work Tommy’s do hopes to move us to a point where no family will have to go through a similar journey.
Tommy’s are the UK’s leading pregnancy research charity, dedicated to making pregnancy safer and saving babies’ lives. As the only UK charity delivering research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, Tommy’s invests over £2million each year into groundbreaking studies that turn scientific discoveries into lifesaving care.
For Tom
Early this year, just two weeks after returning from his honeymoon, Tom suffered a Grand Mal seizure that lasted over 5 minutes. After urgent hospitalisation and a series of tests, a brain tumour was discovered. On 14th April 2025, Tom underwent brain surgery. Less than three weeks later, he and his wife Vicky were told the devastating news that the tumour was grade 4 and likely to return.
Brain Tumour Research highlights an enormous unmet need - brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer in the UK, yet historically only around 1% of national cancer research funding has been allocated to brain turmours.
They are actively supporting and enabling key infrastructure for research, such as their BRAIN UK network, which covers around 90% of the UK population.
Over the course of the week, Fraser and Conor will cover more than 180 miles across London, testing every ounce of their endurance and determination. Each marathon will be a physical and emotional test - but also a reminder of the strength, resilience, and hope that these charities represent.
They’re asking for a donation to help them reach their huge donation aim! Every pound will be split equally between these two fantastic causes as we aim to make these two awful pieces of news to receive rarer each year.
