US GROWTH SPEARHEADED BY GLOBAL NON-PROFIT WITH ANNUAL CHARITABLE REVENUE OF $1.2BN

We are the charity fundraising solution for today and tomorrow. Through tech-for-good and sector leading innovation, givestar makes fundraising relevant by meeting the demands of a digital, mobile and cashless society.

We're only just getting started and we've processed over £13 million of donations in serving next gen fundraisers like Hardest Geezer, whose Project Africa campaign has hit £1m. With thousands of campaigns on the platform every month, fundraisers, donors and charities are boosting their impact through givestar’s unique offering.

With our free fundraising app, givestar turns every smartphone into a contactless donation device, allowing people to take donations anywhere with a simple tap of a donor’s card. This technology has paved the way for international expansion into the US, led by a marquee non-profit organisation with annual charitable revenue of $1.2bn exclusively using givestar’s contactless tech. Overall, volume on the givestar platform is up 130% year on year.

Our £2.1m investment round is from backers including Love Ventures and Benefact Group, as well as angels such as Anthony Bolton and investor/creator Julius Dein. givestar Co-Founder, Tom Montague commented: “Now is the time for something different. The charity sector risks a relevancy crisis if it fails to connect with the next generation. Which is why we're so passionate about building technology that makes giving fit for today and tomorrow, through innovation we make philanthropy relevant. We're delighted to have investors onboard who are motivated by our mission to unleash the good in everyone.”

General Partner at Love Ventures, Marcus Love commented: “This is the decade of purpose, and givestar is set to be right at the forefront of this shift in societal norms and attitudes. We’re delighted to be joining the givestar team as they continue to shake up the charitable giving ecosystem for the better”.

Mark Hews, Chief Executive at Benefact Group, said: “Owned by a charity ourselves, charitable giving is at the heart of what we do. All of our available profits go to good causes and we are motivated to make a real difference in the lives of the communities we help to protect. I’m delighted to be able to further support givestar with this latest investment. We firmly believe givestar brings a unique offering to the charity sector – making it easier for fundraisers, donors and charities to raise funds that are critical to achieving their fundraising goals.”
